I'm trying to stream video via 802.11 WLAN to a Philips Streamium SL300i (so I can put my DVD's on the PC & access them around the house). Problem is the Streamium/WLAN can't deal with video bitrates over about 1000kb/s. I'm tearing my hair out trying to find a way to convert my ripped copy of Madagaskar Christmas Penguins to some format which gets the bitrate below 1000 (mainly I'm trying mp4). I just bought the Xilisoft "Video Convertor" but the problem I have is that the converted file has no audio. I found the same problem when I tried to use Videora to convert the same file for use on my Video iPod. Any ideas? I'm wondering if there are some very specific (but unusual) audio settings. BTW - If I rename the appropriate, ripped VOB file to ".mpg" it plays just fine, complete with audio (as I know some people seem to have problem ripping this particular DVD).
