Try to locate the exact MID code off of those blank bulk paks using this free program:

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/dvd_...

We can see who actually manufactured them with that MID code.

Have those 4 stand alone players been able to play your other backups on different media?

Have you tried the dash format?

What is the Brand name and model# of your dvd-rw drive?

Can you view those Bulk pack backups on your pc,using that same dvd-rw drive that produced them-to play them?

Those players are giving you a no disc inserted error. Here's the usual culprits for that error:

1) Format of blank media-try opposite format
2) Quality of blank media-use the quality stuff
3) Quality of your dvd-rw drive. Variations between burners can give stand alone players fits. Firmware update may be in order. Some of those burners out there are very poor when it comes to stand alone player compatability.

Those players are telling you there is something wrong with your backups. It's very odd that 4 drives give the same error. You need to confirm those backups, using the dvd-rw drive to play them and see how they look.

Please answer all questions and post back any other info that may help.

I've never heard of this manufactuer id?: disc info id vdspmsab

If you've already recorded +R's on other media and your stand alones play them. Than I would say to switch media (brands). You can try to burn another and see if you get the same results. Either way, it looks like bad media.

this manufacturer is about as good as "princo"...that is an honest comparison, but, MOST will tell you that "princo" is not a very good manufacturer~ princo (made in taiwan) and vdspmsab (some i've seen made in austria)

vdspmsab coding is also found on the "GQ" (great quality my a$$) 4x discs here in the U.S., usually at Fry's Electronics; as well as the "GreatAzo" branded 4x discs found at various online retailers :P

suffice it to say, if you bought the GQ or GreatAzo here in the U.S. under the 4x rated speed, you just flushed your $$ down the toilet as the reliability and playback compatibility is VERY poor among MANY different standalones...even burning these crappy discs @ 2.4x speed doesn't help MUCH...

so, to answer your intial question Cajundog, these are bottom of the rung discs, poorly made and quality is very bad...i would def. switch to a diff. media ASAP if you value the data/video on your discs.

i'd steer clear of Bulkpaq altogether, i got bitten by their inferior (and Fake to boot) discs bigtime (Bulkpaq 8x Orange, mid code TYG02), absolute utter atrocious rubbish
