i am new to ps2 modding, im ordering a dms4 pro chip and want to do a hdd also. can someone link me or give me the run down on everything i need to do to get my ps2 to run back ups and from hdd. im not new to modding. i have been modding xbox's for awhile and have no problem installing any chips. just a complete newb to ps2's.

nah,, i want to do a chip,,, i have tut on the chip,,, i think i even have the bios to flash on the chip,,, but i read somewhere that u can install a hdd a and dl games to the hdd and run off it, which is what i want to do.

It depends. If you have a slim PS2, you'll need something called HD Connect to load games off a HD. If you're using a "fat" PS2, you simply hook an IDE HD into the expansion bay. The DMS 4 Pro SE is a great choice for playing games off a HD. The third party firmware which the chip runs off (Toxic OS) has a HD Loader program built into the flash. That means you can use the chip to load your games off a HD. Team Toxic (creators of Toxic OS) has designed their own HD Loader program which is compatible with a higher percentage of games than HD Loader/HD Advance. It's also updated more frequently.
