I'm having a little problem with my Dvd/CD writer that came with my computer. I was burning an audio cd compilation using Nero when it reached 100% it froze (usually is just says your finished, click ok, done, then it ejects your cd). So, i closed Nero, tried to open the drive to get my cd and it wouldnt open. I restarted my computer, opened the drive and got my cd. Then went back into Nero to burn another cd. Put the cd in and clicked on the burn button. Then the drive opens and says 'put in a blank disc' or some crap. So i close Nero and put an audio cd in. Now the drive is not reading any cds but i can still open and close it. I'm thinking about tearing this thing out and putting in a Sony dvd/cd drive that i've had laying around. any ideas on what this problem could be?

I've got the same problem. Drive will not read or write any cds or dvds. But it will write ISO files and VOB files. Tried updating the firmware and re-installing Nero but it doesn't work.
Liteon offered to repair it but i have to send it Germany!!! Its going to cost £30+ to send it so i might as well buy a new one

Its weird because i just got this computer 6 months ago. I got 10 albums on a cd from a friend so i was burning the mp3s from my hard drive. On the 8th one it happened right when the cd was done. I've probably burned about 200 cds and dvds on it and had the same problem one other time but i restarted and it worked fine afterwards. But, now i pop a cd in and it wont read it.
