There are upconverting DVD players, but as far as playing an AVI file in HD I don't think anything can do that currently. There is a D-Link networked media player that may do it... but not sure. It would be nice if someone realized that there is a huge potential market for things like this.

THx for the info.. oh well , hope they make somthing soon.. The reason im asking is that watching the shows on my 19"crt is no fun when i could have watched em on my 42" tv... and sending em from the pc to the tv is no option becuse i have an xfx card with vivo standard i never have got to work (only get black&white picture..tried every driver and cable out there)
Damn, i want to watch rome and star trek enterprise.... only have em in HDTV format....

Are these XviD files that the resolution is too high, therefore no playback on a stand alone that accepts XviD format? If so, I have the same problem. Anyone have a suggestion to adjust to the proper resolution so that they can be burned for playback. Thanks
