Hey guys i am Josh,
New to afterdawn and a new DVD Shrink user. Well here is the deal. I was trying to back up Punisher last night and it kept coming up with an error code. Data error cyclic redundancy check. The funny thing is that i finally got it to back it up but all i did was wait a few min and tried again. I have been getting the same error message on a few others that i tried as well any ideas as what to do to fix this problem. Gets kind of old trying and trying over and over again until it takes. Any help would be great
Thanks

Are you getting errors on all the disks you try or only a few. It could be the encryption DVD Shrink is a little old and will not always do newer movies. Also, CRC errors can also becaused by damaged or dirty disks. Try ripping the movie to your HDD using DVD FabDecrypter and the process through Shrink, you will have less problems this way. You can get it here

Thanks for the help. Sorry to be so unclear. No it isnt on all the disk, but it might be on that disk and then not get one on that same disk later on in the day. It is a hit or miss type thing.
How long does the normal process take as well. I am taking about1.5 time it takes to watch a movie to back it up is that normal. I know that it depends on your system. I have avery quick system that is why i am curious. I only burn at 8x but that isnt were the hold up is. It takes like 45 + to encrypt. Not sure just thought that i would ask? I am going to try and use the softwear you recomended and see if that speeds things up and get ride of this error thanks

Check and make sure your drives are in DMA mode and not in PIO. You can read the guide here on how to check. Also make sure you do not have deep analysis and quality settings on in Shrink, this will increase time.
