When ripping Coyote Ugly CladDVD goes to approximately 63% then goes to 100% without ripping the remainder of the movie. I have tried changing settings & have the same result. I've ripped this movie at least 7 or 8 times with the same results. The movie is 1h 40m long. I can only get 1h 4m ripped. I've ripped approx 2½ dozen movies over the past 12 - 15 months and this is the only one I can't rip.

I was successful using Smartripper, however, I have very little experience using it and prefer to use CladDVD, VFAPI and VirtualDub. To me Smartripper does not permit me the control I like to have in ripping but that could be my inexperience with that software. Plus Smartripper doesn?t seem to have the quality I like to have.

A friend using their Linux box met with the same results. I?ve searched the Internet and haven?t been able to find any information about problems ripping this movie. What am I doing wrong?! Any help, from anyone, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

DVD Decrypter is the most recommended dvd ripper to use. Consider cleaning the dvd with non-absorbant material such as rubbing alcohol with a q-tip or cloth. You can also change the settings in DVD Decrypter to "ignore read errors".

Thanks for the info. It was helpful. After using DVD Decryptor to rip the movie it works fine from the hard drive. From DVD Decryptor?s web site I see the recommended program to convert to Divx/AVI from that point is Vidomi. It worked great except there are several places in the movie where the video is jerky, at least a dozen or more. It is irritating to see/watch. Is there a setting that will eliminate this problem that you know of? Thanks for all your help.

How fast did you burn your file? It is recommended not to burn any faster than 8x. Here are some helful guides.

Try to stay with SVCD format for backups to play in your home dvd player (if applicable). For viewing movies on your pc, go DivX using Vidomi with the output file format as AVI.

Shoey, Thanks for your help. I retried using Vidomi with the default settings and it worked fine. Before I changed about 3 settings and apparently that was not good for the conversion. The movie converted with no problem. I like making backup copies of my DVDs just like my music CDs. I would rather ruin a backup copy than my original. Thanks again.
