I took my ps2 apart because i keep on getting disc read errors and supposevly the cmos batttery needed replaced --well after i fixed the disk read error everything was fine--then after that i replaced the cmos battery then i powered up the ps2 and instead of the ps2 staying at the screen where the lights spin and it gives you the browser option and sys config option the lights DONT SPIN they just close up into a ball and the system locks up--i can still hear the sound but cant use the controller. Please help.

I put in a 3 volt cr2032 battery-"The Little Round One"

The ps2 needs the battery to detect the hardware to run the console-

so i have to have a battery in

Before replacing the battery be sure that it is of the same type as origial and do not interchange positive and negative terminals. Pay close attention to battery terminals, positive to positive and vice versa.
