Here is my problem.

I have a slim 70002 PS2, it s modded too.

Something weird is happening. After i plug it to the power, insert the disc, turn off the console, it reads the disc just fine, but if i restart the console, it doesen t read NO DISC, it says that nothing is inserted, and the red cloudy screen is on. If i turn it off, same thing.

Now, if i turn off the console for like 5 minutes, and start it again, it READS THE game good, every disk, but only the first time, after that doesen t read nothing.

And another thing, while playing i actually moved the console a bit, like 5 cm, and the game froze.

I m really scared.

Can somebody tell me what could be the problem and what can i do?

Is it the modchip going crazy, or my laser is dying, or i hope not, some hardware in my ps2?

Plz, i beg you, help me . :<

P.S.: i forgot, sometimes, if i restart to many times, my ps2 won t even display the booting screen, the blue cloudy thing, instead the tv screen remains BLaCK, while the console light is red!!! :(((

:>

hi
it sounds like its overheating, try putting a fan in fornt of it while you play & see if this solves your problem. if it does i'm sure i have seen a soloution on afterdawn for overheating (i think it is a secondry fan or heat sink (there is a guy on here with a piccy of a ps2 with a blue led in the usb ports in his signature thats who had the answer) if the fan helps then search the forums for overheating problems if no one answers hear

Thank you, i will try first thing in the morning, if u have other solutions plz post. I love this forum :>

Still, if i restart the ps2 after like 10 seconds, it doesen t find the disk. Is it possible to overheat so fast? Or maybe my cooler stoped? i can t believe that, since it s just 1 year old... i think it s something else thou, i can t believe it s overheating so fast, after like 10 sec...

the v12's (which is what yours is) had laser problems, they burned out, the fan could not be running which could cause it to overheat quickly. open it up & check to see if fan is running as it is very hard to hear it running so check it visualy (i think it if overheats it should just turn off though but it is worth checking) other than that you may need to check or replace the laser. (i am unsure if there is anyway to check the laser but someone on here will know how to if it can be done) also clean the laser & see if this helps any.

strangest thing, i ve put the console in another cooler room, i played for 1 hour, and it booted up every game, almost from the first try, BUT sometimes, when i restart the console, the tv screen remains black, and i have to turn of the console ant turn on again for the boot screen to appear...why is that?
