I just bought a 50 pack of verbatim 16x dvd-r. I got home and went to burn the file like i always do that was created with dvd shrink and dvd decrypter wont even recognize the disk. i read through the forums and it seems that the best thing to do was update my firmware for my dvd drive. so i went and found the right download and installed it. Now it recognizes the disk but when i click it to start recording it gives me an I/O error.

tells me its an incompatible format.

any sugestions? i dont want to pitch these disks if i can help it.

What DVD are you trying to back up? I assume you have Nero? If so, what version? Have you tried another type/brand blank disc? What error do you get? Trying to help but need a little more info.
