I've noticed that sometimes the read speed jumps from the standard 2.1x (from my experience) up to a screaming 10+x. The higher speed rip
was fine and took a fraction of the normal time. I've tried every set-up
procedure to set the higher rip speed consistently , but no luck. Any ideas?

BTW , my experience has been that DVD Decrypter + Vob blanker + Shrink works every time(so far).

decrypter will vary it speed for various reasons type of encryption the quality of the disk it is reading etc for example an unencyptered disk will read at 8-10X on my system where as an encrypted one only at an average of 2.1
dont try to accelerate it you will only end up with read errors
