As a preface....can somebody explain this?

When I examine contents of DVD, the total size of the VIDEO_TS folder contents is 4gb. When I rip to HD I get the *.ifo and *.vob files, and they add up to 4GB. BUT when I rip (using DVD Decrypter) to an ISO the ISO is 8GB! Why is ISO size different?

I couldn't burn DVD using ISO, because it was 8GB...
So instead I did this

1) put ripped contents into VIDEO_TS folder
(the ifo file and vob files)

2) created empty AUDIO_TS

3) burned VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders
onto DVD (the folder name must be all caps I'm told)

are above steps correct? all I need to do?

the problem is this....I can play the movie, but not like a normal DVD...
I have to manually load the vob files into dvd player (I'm using PowerDVD), and when one vob file finishes and next begins, there's noticeable gap as vob is loaded up, rather than smooth playing between one vob file to next one. I've read the various guides, and saw no mention of this problem...

What step am I missing? to get the burned DVD to play like a DVD (ie not manually loading vobs etc...smooth playing as one vob file ends and another begins)

SMARTRIPPER (to rip to HDD)
FILE button and select ALL,next select destination folder then START.
Will take 10-30mins approximately.

NERO Drag all .BUP .VOB . IFO to VIDEO_TS Folder & burn !

DVD-9

SMARTRIPPER This time under the FILE button just take the .VOB's that are selected [little monitor icons] and then tick the box that is 2 above the selected boxes & START.

DVD2One v1.11 Movie-Only , select folder where you put Smartripper files and choose a 2nd destination folder where you want finished DVD2One files put.
Set size to 4272
Select AC3 6CH (audio),ENGLISH Subs (or other),Angle 1...and start !!!

In Nero click VIDEO_TS Folder & drag n' drop everything in there.
There's no need to put anything in AUDIO_TS Folder.
When finally about to burn - select BURN WITHOUT MULTI-SESSION.
