ILO R04 Hanging Up During Recording

After reading many post here, I purchased a R04. I applied Guitarman's hacks, and everything seemed ok. I burned two DV's from my Sony camcorder to the same +RW, then took the +RW and used my PC to edit the Video_TS file using TMPGEnc (add Chapters, Menus, etc), and reburned to a +R. Had no problems!

I started on my third DV today, and at the end of the DV tape, the Ilo pauses. When I press the Stop button, the word Stop just flashes on the display, and the Pause Icon is also present on the display. The only way I can get the thing to stop doing this is to push the Power button. Then it will turn off. But then the only file on the DVD is a DAT file, not the usual Video_TS file.

Before I reused the +RW, I did use the Ilo to Erase it. I have only used this +RW three times (it is a TDK).

Any ideas out there as to why it would be hanging up?

I have had similar problems. But I have the DVDR05. When I am recording from my vcr and I press the dvd recorder stop button nothing happens. The please wait screen comes up but it never progresses off of zero. The unit freezes up.I have to unplug the unit to get it to function again. And that recording is ofcourse lost.

Did you try the new firmware upgrade on there site? I've just started to have simular problems. I'm transfering from a dvr to it and start the recording and I come back and it fails try to play it and it locks up.

I tried using a new +RW disc, and it worked fine. This is puzzling to me since I had only used the first one maybe three times. I would expect to be able to us it a lot more.

Yea I'm just going to buy another one mines 14 months old out of warrenty tried everything updates reboot. sent an e-mail to the company to ask if anyone else has the same issue but I can't wait. I'm not going to go out and spend 2-3 hundred on another one if these things don't last long.
