do you have outlook, or outlook express? I have OE, and by default it disables the ability to access all atachments, as they could be potential viruses. To fix this problem, go to tools > options > security tab. uncheck the option that says "do not allow attachments to be saved or open that could potentially be a virus." that should fix the problem. like I said, that is how to do it for OE, if you have refular outlook the steps will be slightly different, but still somewhere in the options/securty settings.

wow, thats not good man. rund adaware and sbybot search & destroy to scan for adware & spyware...if you had that many viruses, chances are you have a lot of other bad crap on there.

No it's not ok you need to fix it now the last thing you need is malware sending personnal info over the net, install spybot, microsoft defender,Ad-aware update them and scan the comp to remove the crap then install SpywareBlaster and SpywareGurd both will give real time protection as will defender , as for viruses you can get a free scanner from AVG and avast get a firewall or enable windows firewall a NAT firewall in a external modem would be good too as it will mask your comps ports

Edit: best to use more than 1 scanner for spyware as all don't pick up what another will
