Hello all, I am a relative newbie to all of this. I have been searching around, but can't find a solution. If anyone can help me that would be great.

I have recently downloaded every single episode of STAR TREK: TNG. They are all in .avi format and about 700MB each. When you buy DVD's at the store, there are about 4 episodes per DVD per season. What I would like to do is merge 4 episodes together(with created menus)if it is possible, and then burn onto a DVD to watch on my T.V. I want to create my own library so to speak.

Can anyone please enlighten me as to what the best programs are out there to accomplish this? As well as, what the best method is as well as far as fitting at least a couple of episodes on one DVD so I don't have to burn over 100 DVD's for the entire series?

Thanks to anyone who can help me in advance.

well if yours is 700mb im guessing 2 can fit but dont get me wrong all... well depending how many ep. ST has itll fix it to long play or standerd if im corect like standerd ->long play should drop quality but i dont notice it but others have there programs that work for them..

Good luck

there are of coarse tons of ways to do this ...but when dealing with so many episodes you dont wanna have to handle a couple at a time

the easiest way to do this would proly be with TMPGEnc its pretty popular and i hear its easy to use and it has a batch mode which is great for this type of thing ...i dont use it but here is afterdawn's guide to it:
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/advanced_tmpgenc_guide.cfm
and here are a few more:
http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?tools=1&madeby=&formatconvers...

...personally i use this guide (so that i can use cce):
http://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=273886

its a little work to set-up but the guide is good (although a mewbie might find it difficult) and after that you only have to author (you can) and burn the dvds to clear up more space

speaking of authoring (making menus and formatng the video files for an actual dvd) it has to be done after either of these methods and there are tons of tools for it here are a bunch (ratings are on the side if that helps any):
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?toolsearch=&s=2&orderby=Name&hits=...
i use dvd lab (one of the best around) but there is a learning curve involved with that

and of coarse like xredx said you can use an all in one tool here are some:
http://www.videohelp.com/tools?s=35#35
i put this one last just out of personal preference :-> but its proly the easiest -but most limiting- way to do it

gl -if you try it and get stuck i can try to help you out
