Yo, i just got myself Tales of Legendia. and burned a copy using
DVD decryptor on 1X speed with no file splitting.
but when i play it i run into problems. mostly with loadings.
They just pause or you cant get to next scene. it is only workining if i shake my PS2 a bit or slap it .. out of fury. it has done same when i played my DBZ budokai 3 , but i ignored it then. Sincei learned my lesson about caring for game discs since my ps1 times in russia where games costed 80$ (yes they DID) and i kinda wasted them by grabing and scraching em , i kinda dont wanan use the actual DVD.
so could someone advise me on my problem please =D? how to correct it or go around it? ( im using PS2 slim )

1X might actually be too slow depending on the speed of the DVD you use. It is fine if you are using 4X speed DVD's
But with 8X speed i would burn them at 4X
Also it could be due to the qulity of the DVD you use. If you use
cheap quality DVD's it can cause you to have bad burns or cause the laser to have to work harder to read them. This will cause audio/video glitches and slow loading times.
You can try rebuilding the game and see if that helps.

first off the printable discs are not the best option.
I would get a good quality 8X DVD-R
Taiyo Yuden (watch out for fakes)
Philips (not the best but have always worked great for me)
Ritek, Verbatim, Maxcell (made in japan only)

TDK is OK, i used it a few times although i never buy 16X
4X should be safe as a burning speed.
