if money is a factor... you really dont need much of a video card for video editing... geforce5500 is very cheap... and it will do the job... but it does not support dual monitor capability unless your using an "S" cable to tv...

For Video editing you do not need anything special for a Video card or a sound card....You can even use the Cheapo Integrated graphics and audio that comes with Most systems these days.....

the Only reason to have a high end video card and sound card is if you are Say a major gamer but For video editing you do not need anything special accept a fast PC with Lots of ram and drive space....

In My system I have a "Nvidia gforce 6600GT" which is a great and Inexpensive Gamers card that can play most every game there is and it has Dual DVI Outputs and TV-Out But for Video editing you can use Pretty much anything.....

For a Sound card I use a "M-audio Delta 44" which cost me over $200 but it is used for studio Quality Multi-Track recording and I use it in my Home Recording studio but when editing video i just use the integrated 6 ch Audio in my PC.....

so you don"t need to Buy any special video/Audio hardware for doing video editing...

Cheers

yeah hes right.... you shouldnt need any extra cards .... i was just thinking in terms of never needing to upgrade... seeing how in most cases its cheaper to get these preinstalled on a new pc ... than say-going and getting them aftermarket.
