I have the latest version of Anydvd (5.9.1.1) and I followed the steps they provide if you want to use Anydvd in conjunction with DvdDecrypter. These steps (- Note: To use DVDDecrypter with AnyDVD set I/O Model to SPTI or ElbyCDIO.
Set CSS Cracking method to none. Disable checking for structure
protection.)

Well when I use decrypter and try to decrypt Bambi 2 I get the annoying Pack Header Warning. Is this normal? Has anyone successfully decrypted Bambi 2 with Anydvd and Decrypter? I successfully decrypted this movie with Fab but was wondering why it doesn't work with Decrypter and Anydvd. I am doing something wrong?

It does work . In DVDFAB Decrypter it also had the Pack Header but just did not show it. The new version you have of AnyDVD rips it to HD. You are doing nothing wrong.

Thanks bud.I just found it weird that it was decrypting and all of a sudden you could hear decrypter slow down the dvd and then the pack header not found warning came out and it would stop decrypting with DvdDecrypter. It worked fine with Fab.I even tried another movie with Decrypter and it worked without any problems. It was just Bambi 2 that was giving me problems.

poolpro,
I normally would not have bought this original but the GrandKids wanted it and you know how Kids are w/ the original. I did it in .iso mode and put it on a D/L as they like the extras along w/ the movie. That really was a waste of $2.00 US vs. $.35( movie only DVD-5) but it is for the GrandKids . LOL

Here's 2 FREE methods for Newbies only or those that needed and I GUARANTEE that you'll be able to successfully rip and backup any dvds/movies if done right. I've primarily used these 2 methods for ripping and backing up movies and I've never experienced any issues whatsoever.

No AnyDVD, no DVD43, no DVDIdle Pro, no DVD Region+CSS Free, no black screens, no glitches, no dummy cells, no chapters jumping, etc.

- tools needed; all tools are FREE (excluding Nero Recode 2)
<> DVDFAB Decrypter
<> VobBlanker
<> DVD Decrypter
<> PgcEdit + PSL plugins + FixVTS
<> DVD Shrink
<> Nero Recode 2 (not necessary needed, if you're going the FREE route)

<><> method 1 **use Alkohol's DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker 2.1.0.0** <><>

<> rip the movie with the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter
<> PROCESS your VIDEO_TS.IFO file through VobBlanker (only 10 - 12 minutes)
<> import/load your newly created VIDEO_TS file into DVD Shrink (or Nero Recode 2, your choice) and transcode as normal
<> burn your final VIDEO_TS or ISO image file at your desire burning engines, such as Nero Burning Rom, Nero Express, DVD Decrypter, ImgBurn, etc.

<><> method 2 **DVD Decrypter + PgcEdit + PSL plugins + FixVTS** <><>

<> rip the movie with PgcEdit using PSL plugins through DVD Decrypter
<> process craps, junks with FixVTS via the Wizard
<> transcode the VIDEO_TS file with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 (your choice) as normal
<> burn your final VIDEO_TS or ISO image at your desire burning engines, such as Nero Burning Rom, Nero Express, DVD Decrypter, ImgBurn, etc.

For more info on how to use VobBlanker, PgcEdit, PSL plugin + FixVTS, check on the 2 bold links under my sig.

Best of lucks to all and happy burning!!! Remember, all tools are FREE, except Nero.

Will I still need by DVD decrypter or is it obsolete??
If so I will remove it.

Will I always be downloading new software and updates every couple of months.

I am trying to get a feel for whether or not to give up.

I have a house full of coasters and the time I spend having to learn new tricks everyother burn.......gee getting frustrated.

markander ,
DVDDecryptwer was closed down by Macrovision so that will not be updated anymore. DVDFAB Decrypter stepped up to the plate and that is the ripper of choice. You can also use AnyDVD as it is a driver enabled ripper as it works behind the scene
Alot of the programs up date alot as new encryptions come out and that is why you need to update. It is not that hard
Just follow Alkohol's guide and you will be fine.

I used a different method which worked great for me. I used alcohol120 to make an image of bambi2. I loaded image up on my virtual drive then used dvdshrink. copy plays great.

AMD ATHLON 1.1Ghz@256ddr
NVidia Albatron 128Megs
sony dvd-dl rw
Sony ps2 ver4 w/fliptop
swapmagic dvd and cd ver3.2
Using Nero6, Alcohol120, Dvd shrink, and cdgenps2
