I have back up dvds with Decrypter & DVD Shrink before with no problem. But today I decrypted Waiting Unrated and Raw to my HD. When I try to open DVD Shrink, my screen blacked out. I can still hear the movie playing but the monitor screen blacks out.
I reboot and the same thing happens. I try open the original DVD with Power DVD and my screen blacked out. I tried with WinDVD and it blacked out. I put the DVD in the player(I have 2) and play it when the autoplay comes out and it blacked out.
This is a new protection or am I missing something? I ran antivirus & Ad-Aware and everything seems normal.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Any pointer would be appreciated.
Thanks

Should be new protection. Get DVDFab Decrypter to rip to HDD, then run through DVD Shrink as usual and burn with DVD Decrypter.

aagent ,
You have computer problems as your 2nd paragraph is the confirmation. You insert "the original DVD" and the computer screen blacks out. Do you have a graphics card and if so do you also have a graphics card built into the MOBO. If so open the case up after turning it off and upplugging it and remove the graphics card and then connect it to the graphics connection on the MOBO. Connect all back and turn on the computer and see if it plays now. If it does then the Card is going bad or it was not firmly seated. Now turn all of again and re-connect the graphics card and make sure it is seated firmly down and re-turn on the computer. If it now play then it was not seated firmly enough in the slot. No pLay then the card could be going bad. Take that card out and try it in a friends computer to confirm
It could also be you have the screen resolutiuon too high w/ an unusable refresh rate
Will any other DVD Play in the player w/o blacking out

I agree with Car.Mike. It sounds like your MOBO = mother board is going bad, or it could be the video graphic card, or the resolution is wrong that's all.

Thank you for all the inputs.
Car.Mike:
I don't think it's the graphic card. I have done the Decrypter/Shink combo 2 days ago on FlightPlan and everything was ok.
Thinking back, it may not be Waiting but Constant Gardner(CG) that's problem. I Decrypter CG to HD but when I try opening DVD Shink my screen blacked out. It thought it was the graphic card so I reboot and click on DVD Shrink and it happens again and ever since. Then I try opening the Decrypter files and my original DVDs and my screen just blacked out.
All other operations are fine so far. Only when I open try to open DVDs.
I will try uninstalling the Radeon driver and unplug the card as you suggested, and reinstall again to see what happens.
But it's curious that my screen will black out when opening DVD Shrink. Very suspicious.

It is not Shrink as you now need to make sure you have the UTD Drivers ATI has for the card. Which card do you have? I know when I update my card I uninstall everything ATI and then re-boot and then re-install the new program files, drivers and hydravision etc. The card could also have a small solder problem as a friend of mine had that problem w/ the 9800 ATI Card. New card and problem solved. His card as well as mine has a 3 year warranty so check that. You also could have a bad slot so I am hoping you might have 2 AGP slots. If so move the card to the other slot. You stated it happens when you insert the original DVD and try to play it and that is why it makes sense it has something to do w/ the Card or Mobo.

Hi Car.Mike:
Thanks for your pointer. I removed my latest Radeon driver and ATI Tray Tool, and reinstall with ATI CC. It did the trick. I must have tweak something in the ATI Tray Tool and messed it up.
I am glad it wasn't some kind of copy protection similar to Sony's that install without you knowing.
Thanks again for all the input and helps.
