Hey, thanks for reading. I've searched this and many other forums to no avail.
I've got a US PSP firmware v1.50 and I've figured everything out from running ISOs to converting video.. no problem. Easy as cake.
However, the one thing that vexes me is how to get my .mp4 video titles to display on the PSP. For instance, I rename a TV show m4v00001.mp4 and it shows up in the PSP's list, but the title is "-". Yeah, a dash.
Is there a way to get it to show up as "TV Show Title" instead?
I thought of just creating a custom .THM file with text showing the title... but that's too much hassle really.
Thanks.

well if you use video 9 you get a .thm file and any title you want to give it.oh and one of the reasons is that you have to capitaliz it like this M4V00001.MP4, then you have to put it in the root folder.
you always have to convet the video compatable to the psp.

Thanks for your speedy replies.
Yes, I'm an old pro at video converting so it's already in .mp4.
I would like to restate that I'm asking if I can change the display title on the PSP.
I see that "Video 9" creates a custom .THM file. Thanks.
Now... can I CHANGE the DISPLAY title without using a specific converter app? Not necessarliy the .THM. Let's just pretend I'm hooked on a particular converter and wouldn't want to change... can I change the display title manualy? When copying video to the memory stick it discards document info.
ps - this isn't a DVD.. but an xvid TV rip I'm using.

Upon checking out PSP Video 9's options, I see you can edit the "MVS tag" in the "copy" section, be it on your PC or on the PSP.
Thanks... (but I still give myself 50% credit for this one) ;)

lol was halfway through typing this answer when my keyboard died
honestly look Quote: i see what your getting at
you convert a file called "film" which is then "film.mp4"
you the rename it to "M4V00001.mp4" thus losing your "film" name
to my knowledge this is the first time this has been asked - so congrats to you on your original post.
but....
to the answer.
with pspvideo
the rest of the answer would have been go to copy and change the title (not filename) of your file to "film"
anyway you've solved it
still congrats on the original question - not many of these flying around now

Its in Japanese but if you scroll down about half way, you'll see a list on the right hand side of the screen with names beginning PSP and ending in v0.3.x
Click on the one ending v0.3.7 (the latest), download and install.
Change the TitleWriter.ini file so it reads LANG=ENGLISH and away you go.
Just browse to your .MP4 folder be it on your PC or PSP. Right click on the file in the right window and choose Edit Title.
