Hello i have been coming to this site for quite some time now, This is my first post.So i bought my PSP from a friend for $170 working perfectly and looking like new.I downgraded my psp from 2.00 to 1.5 I got homebrew to work and it was great, then i saw a post that said that it was possible to keep the web browser from v2.00 in V1.5 if the battery was removid while downgrading. With my hopes up i upgradded back to V2 then when i was downgrading to v 1.5 i removed the battery. When i power up the PSP the power light lights up for 20 seconds and then it turns off but thats all the PSP does now.

yes removing the battery while downgrading was stupid but since i already had gotten Homebrew working i was confident that i would be able to keep my web browser too

Here are the best options i could come up with after hours of research:
1.Call sony and tell them i had a power failure while upgrading after all why did they make their PSPs brick while upgrading.I'm sure that a lot of innocent people have had their PSP's bricked thanks to power failures(my "power failure was intentional").anyway i don't know if this would work becaus ei don't have the receipt for the PSP.

2. i could buy a motherboard for 100 dollars and try to install it myself, the bad thing is that i could mess the psp even further and i would have to brake the warranty sticker leaving option 1 useless

3 try to swap my psp with a new one at walmart, but i cannot risk getting in trouble and i don't have 250 dollars to get a new one

4. sell the psp at ebay, i can get 100 dollars from people looking for part

5. strip the psp and sell the parts at ebay, if i do this there is a chance that i won't be able to sell all of then

6. i heard that they are coming up with a psp modchip, maybe it would be possible to get the PSP's BIOS back in there, but there is a chance that they don't come up with the modchip

7 i could wait for someone to find a way to fix bricked PSP's

please help me choose one of these options or if someone could come up with something better that would be great

by the way i didn't even had the psp for more than a week.

i was thinking a lot about the spawn option but i have heard nomerous things about it, like someone said that they check your id and stuff plus i get all paranoid about everything,

my plan was to wait a few months and see if they do come up with that mod chip and if not i would just sell it on ebay.

Damn, what jackass told you to do that with the battery. That sucks. I would go with option 1. Seems like the safest route to me. Or you can buy a mobo and if that doesn't work out, you lost another 100 bucks. Or you can risk going to jail. Or you can just have your psp sit around uselessly.

sorry dude...id go with option 3, its worked for many people, but many have alse failed, if smethign goes wrng and they chek the serial no. just:
1) do a stand up and run out guns balzing
2)say u brougth the wrong one and run out(possibly screaming)
3)send a good looking girl, tell her to work her charms and try getting it swapped
4)send a adorable cousin, when they refuse tell it to cry/start a tantrum...

Ive read this too, and ive tried it, din brick but din work either, i did not try it again, your sposed to takethe battery out after the downgrader finished doing its thing, not during, neways woulndt recommend it.

he might of misinterpreted a post.. like one of bombaboys posts in another thread could be misinterpreted.. i am pretty sure i know what you meant but someone could misread that as they were supposed to take the battery out.. cause i have never seen a post of something telling you to take the batt out to keep the internet.. but i agree with what ya said find who did it and throw a brick through their window

i don't think that i misinterpreted the post. actually there where 2 different posts on said that if you removed the battery instead of pressing "o" you would be able to keep the browser so i did that.the second post said that if you removed the battery while upgrading it could be possible to keep the brwoser, so i did that and here i am.

i believe that i got that info from hackaday.com

i asked my friend for the receipt and he said that he would call me if he could find it.If he does find it i will go with option #1

heck lets start our own way to piss people of

When downgrading your psp, throw it in the toilet till it is fully soaked.

Or

When you downgrade your psp, you should hit it with a hammer no less than 10 times. this way the pspwill become emune to anything you throw at it.

just a thought.
