Need help in retrieving the password in windows.

you cant retrieve a password but you can change it if you know the administrator password.

boot up your pc and when it gets to the welcome screen press ctrl+alt+del until you see the old win 2000 style login box come up, type in administrator in the username box and whatever your admin password is in the password box.

once youve logged in go to control panel and select "user accounts"

from there you can change the password of your user account

Before reformatting try over at cnet and or try googling for a work around goodluck, oh yeah if you have another comp you can retrieve the data you may want or you can remove the hdd and install it on the 2nd comp as a slave
