Problem with S-Video

Im new with video capturing, I bought Dazzle 85, It didnt come with any RCA connectors or anything, I knew my tv had an S-Video port on the back so i went back in the store and bought an s-video cable. I hooked the s video up to the capturing source and to the back of the tv.. But I cant capture any video from my tv with movie maker or pinnacle studios. Am i not able to make a direct connection with the s-video from the tv to the dazzle device to catpure?

My guess is that the S-Video on the tv will most probably be Output not input and ur capture card will be Output. Output to output :-p it wont work but you could get a s-video to rca plug thatll work.

What kinda tv you got?

Err. I went out and bought a vcr, and regular rca cables and I hooked everything up (im trying to record my halo 2 gameplay) and the quality is bad. Im capturing the video with Windows Movie maker but their are nasty green and purple lines covering up the preview of it..

hmmmmm could be macrovision, trying plugging your xbox straight into your computer. Other than that im not that up to it with Video Editing, but i know that windows movie maker is crap try and find an alternative.
