my xbox is modded yet but it will be soon, but before i get it modded i need to know how to copy games to my xbox

Use a program called DVD2XBOX. After this is installed on your modded box you can use it to copy games right to the HDD with ease. Press a few buttons, drink a beer while waiting, reset Xbox, play game right from HDD.

is dvd2xbox something that i have to buy or is it arleady installed on a xbox that has a bigger harddrive installed

No you don't have to buy it. It can be downloaded and installed manually if need be.
