sony laptop wont play some new dvds

hi there i have a sony PCG-FRV37 laptop with a Matshitsu UJ810 dvd player and some new dvds like "Waiting" i cant even play. i get an error message from Any dvd saying "{warning region locked" and i have Any dvd and Clone dvd. how can i fix this? i can play and copy most everything eles.

Is this a backed up dvd?

If so some DVD players won't read DVD+RW format, or other formats.

it plays backed up dvd just fine. its only some of the super brand new dvds like "Waiting" and "Dark Water". i am only trying to play the original. not trying to copy them. the message i get says my Matshita need to be assigned a region...

it says my drive is locked or not assigned a region how do i unlock it or assign it a region?

I personally think it is your laser reader. You will need a new laser/DVD player.
