I use DVD Shrink to copy videos and the last two times I got "cyclic redundancy check" error message. I am considering downloading CD Checker 3 from www.softwarepatch.com but wanted to get your opinion first. Has anyone downloaded this and if so what did you think? Is it spyware? Thanks for any help you have to offer.

this error is because of copy protection. as for cd checker 3 i have no knowledge of the program.

just download AnyDVD from slysoft.com this will eliminate copy protection errors. you get a 21 day free trial then will have to pay for it but it is well worth the money!

and why are you going to use cd checker if you are backing up movies witch are dvd's why do you need cd checker? do you have any other programs running in the backround when you are trying to do your backups? like any dvd, dv43 dvd region + css free theese will take care of the problems you are having

The CRC error could also mean that the disc is dirty or scratched, take the disc out of the drive and make sure it is clean and free of scratches...could also be a bad press.
