I just installed a H20 pro mod chip into my v7 PS2 and everything went fine, except when I put the bottom screw back in, I accidently pinched the system fan wires somehow and the fan wont work, I tried another fan of a working PS2 and it wont work either. Does anyone know if there is a fuse somewhere I can check or if there is anything else I can check to fix this. Other than the fan not working, everything else seem to be working ok as far as I know.

thank you for the info. I found the blown fuse PS5 I think it is, now I just have to replace it. I have another v7 board for parts, I'll just take it of it. any advice on how to remove and replace them? they look really small and fragile.

15W or lower soldering iron should do the trick, use a tweezer to hold the fuse when removing it.

I changed the fuse on the board, and now I have a whole new problem. I turned on my PS2, and the fan works, but the cd/dvd drive was making really weird sounds as if a motor was constantly running, even though the cd wasn't spinning and it smelled burned. I opened it back up, and noticed that the glue that was holding the bios wires came loose and they shifted over and when I had put the PS2 together it shorted them out. DO you think my mod chip and PS2 are both fried now?

something could have gone wrong, but were the wires still attached to the motherboard's bios or did they come loose is well and shorted something?

no, they didn't come loose off the bios chip, when the glue got loose, it just moved the wires far enough to be inline with one of the little screws that holds the shield around the mainboard, and severed 2 wires

yes the fan works and everything seems to be working, I made a copy of gran turismo 3 and tried it and it plays so I think the mod chip works too, thanks for all your help .

I'm also having a similar problem. I have a v7 PS2, and it fell, and the fan stopped working, along with the DVD drive jamming. I got the drive fixed fine, but the fan still doesn't work. I don't have access to any new fuses for a v7 motherboard, so I was going to take the advice from the first link posted, for powering the fan through the USB port in the front of the PS2.
Also, none of my storebought originals worked, only my backups, after dropping it. After updating the BIOS on a DMS4 Pro chip... everything works fine again. Should I worry about that happening again? Or does anyone know why that happened? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

@DSKCP74
Your welcome
@jkoz
If you drop your ps2, then yes you will encounter problems, sometimes the laser and other gears inside the drive move out of place, which is why your were probably having those problems, could have also been a loose wire in the ps2 or something, as for the fan there is a fuse on the motherboard somewhere that you need to replace, then it should start working. If you need a v7 fuse diagram PM or you can find it on google images.

Yeah, I didn't expect it to be all right. Not sure how updating ToxicOS from 0.3 to 0.41 fixed my boot problems, but it did. Found a diagram, posted earlier, for V7/8: http://www.picsystems.net/imagenes_fuses/v7_8.jpg
I'm not the best electrician, so would I need a multimeter to find what fuses had blown, or how would I go about determining what fuse needs replacing, and where would I find the spare parts for the replacing? Are these fuses readily available or will I need an old V7 board for parts?
