Hello,

I have a 4 cd set movie that is in SVCD format. I need to convert them back to VCD because my stand alone DVD player doesn't support SVCD, only VCD. I am attempting the conversion method on vcdhelp.com but I am getting the virtualdub error about pack synchronazition. Please advise, thanks.

Dub doesn't read SVCDs. Try this:

Use VCDGear to extract the .mpeg files out of the CDs, if it is still in SVCD (DAT files) format. Then, use AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI to load the MPEG-2 file and save it as a project file. Load the .d2v project file to TMPGEnc and encode it to MPEG-1. And enjoy your LOTR ;-)

Thanks for the help, but I am running in to an issue. It seems that TMPGEnc doesn't support d2v files. I try and load the project and it gives me an error.

Eh? .d2v is meant for TMPGEnc. Simply download the latest AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI and re-run it. If it doesn't help, copy the .vfp file from AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI to TMPGEnc and use TMPGEnc's Global Settings>VFAPI Plugins and force it to recognize the AVI.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">DVD2AVI reader.

I tried your suggestions. It still gives me an "Illegal Stream Error" when I load the .d2v project in TMPGEnc. Just to clarify this is what I did:

Got ISOBuster, open the LOTR Bin. Copied the mpg file from the bin.
Loaded DVD2Avi, went to Open, loaded that mpg file.
Went to Save Project and saved it.
Loaded TMPGEnc, went to open project and selected the file I just created. Then I recieve that error. Thanks a lot.

Weird. Hm, have you tried to open the MPEG-2 file directly with TMPGEnc?
