disc tray will not open

I was cleaning the dust out of my ps2 lens and then I try to turn the ps2 on. I press the disc tray button, and it will not open. There is no screen and sound. I noticed also that there is no blue light on the dis tray button. Can anybody help me with this problem?

when you opened up your ps2 there is a silver ribbong that is the power to disk tray, if you disturbed or pulled that off while opening the tray then you are going to be out of luck.


when you press the button to open the tray does it try to open where you hear it and then it just isn't moving or your getting no lights and power to what your doing?

from way i read what you posted it has to do with the silver ribbon that is attached inside your ps2 which can easily be torn off

I checked the silver ribbon. It is the same as always. It does not try to open when I press the button. Also there is a gray screen when I turn the ps2 on.
