Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in, I just wasn't real sure....2 years ago I made a homemade DVD using JPEG pictures that I took while on my honeymoon. I need to know if there is a way I can get those pictures back off of this DVD and back on my computer as regular JPEG's again.

The problem is that I had a hard drive crash which contained those pictures and lost all of them. I did have a backup of the pictures on a CDR, but it has gotten scratched and is no longer readable.

Bottom line is that I just want the pictures back on my computer so that I can make additional backups of them in case something else ever happens. Right now all I have that is in good condition is the DVD I made wth them. Thanks in advance for your help!

use VirtualDub mod load your VOB from your dvd then goto video then
snapshot source frame name and save as .bmp advance the slider and repeat for each image you may want to convert these later to .jpg images to save on hdd space
irfanview is the program that i would recomend it will also allow you to crop out the black areas that may appear around your pics
all these are free

You don't need anything special to get pictures off a non-copyrighted dvd. I did the exact same thing that you want to do with Power DVD. Make a folder in My Pictures where you would like to save your captured frames.
Look to the remote. There is a camera on it. You may even be able to pause the movie where you want and then save the snapshot (Capture Frame).
Press CTRL+C to open the configuration window.
Hit Advanced
Hit Capture
Choose Capture to File
Browse and choose the folder you made to save the captured images in and begin capturing your cherished photos.
