I have a v1.6 box modded with the Xecuter 3 CE chip. Right now I have it set on a crossover cable to my spare PC in my library and that is what i use to transfer to Xbox with. Question I have is can I somehow hook the Xbox to the Internet with the crossover method or would I have to use a router? I have a wireless modem that is in a room on the other side of the house and not too fond of buying or making a wireless connection for the Xbox.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or step by step on how to do this if possible?

Thanks,

Flandrel

You could say that. In my bedroom I have my computer hooked via USB to Wireless DSL Modem. In the office across the house I have the Xbox hooked up to my office computer by a crossover cable via NIC card running from Xbox console to the NIC card in my office computer. I use that computer to transfer between PC and Xbox. What I need to know is how can I hook the Xbox to the Internet or Xbox Live, etc. in the configuration it is now setup in without having to buy the wireless adapter for the Xbox. In other words, my wireless modem is across house from where Xbox console is hooked up to the office computer which is hooked to the Internet via wireless card. In other words, my Xbox is hooked to a computer which has a wireless PCI card and a standard CAT 5 NIC card.

Hope this helps.

P.S. I could not get your website to even come up at all.

Hopefully this picture I did of the layout will help you understand what I probably said in a confusing way. LOL.

Basically the office computer has 2 NIC cards. One wireless for Internet and one CAT 5 for crossover connection to Xbox.

You need to set up a bridge on your PC. Go into your Network settings, select both your NIC and your wireless adapters, right click and go Bridge Connections. Should be just about it, have a poke around in there if it doesn't come good. You probably will also need to set up the network in the XBox Live dashboard to point to the computer that has the internet sharing set up, most likely 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

Just be 100% certain that your modchip is turned off BEFORE doing anything involving Live if you EVER want to play on it again, it is quite easy to get yourself banned. Hope this helps, I was running mine in this way for a couple months before I got rid of my crappy USB wireless adapter.
