Im new to burning and need some advice.

I bought a Sony DVD+/-RW and it came with nero burning rom which works great with shrink. My laptop has a DVD+/-RW as well. I cannot install Nero burning rom on it. It says "it is only for the sony DVD burner".

Is there any freeware burning software out there?

You probably got an OEM version which will only with the machine that it was sold with. But yeah, you can use DVDDecrypter to burn. IMGburn also works and is free.
