Burning .mdf file for Audio playback

Hi, I have a 341mg .mdf file that I know was an audio file in its original format. I have Alcohol and have tried burning the file to disk so that I can later play this then convert it to mp3.

Im not sure what I am doing wrong during the burning process but when i play the file through iTunes (which I think is in a .cda format when burned) the quality sounds bad with a muffled sound. Im hoping that this wasnt the case with the original audio file.

Could I be doing something wrong here? Im opening the file and adding it to Alcohol, the going to the image buring wizard and into the image file format setting. I set the track format to Audio track but my image header size and image trailer size are both on 0. Its also saying at the bottom in the notes section that the file is an unsupported format and i should manually set the track format and additional settings.

All I want is a good quality audio file that I can later convert to mp3.

Please can anyone help with this or offer any advice? Many thanks in advance for any replys.
