i am having a problem with some movies within the past 2 weeks. when shrinking with dvdshrink it gets so far and then stops and says burn process failed. also on some of the movies that do work, they will skip and freeze. but it doesnt do it all the time, sometimes it takes me 6 dvds to get one that works. i use anydvd with dvdfab to rip to the hd. then if i need to i use vobblanker, then dvdshrink with nero (never had a problem like this before). i am using dvd-r and dvd+r both sony. the dvds i was/am having a problem with are doom, just like heaven, the prince and me 2, transporter 2. i think is is more but i am not sure. i finally got some to work are many tries. i am using a tsstcorpcd/dvdw ts-h552b to burn. i have a amd semphron 3000+ 1.99 ghz 1 gb ram 80 gb hd.

magicmanx ,
I think it is either the burner or the blank media but can you post a Nero Log so we can look at it. Please remove your serial number when you post the log

First of all, if using DVDFab and/or Vobblanker, you should have AnyDVD disabled to aviod possible program conflicts.

As Car.Mike stated, a Nero log would be helpful.

Most of the time the TSST burners are in laptops and not in towers : My Mistake. If you search on TSST burner they are having a lot of problems. You either have a good one or a crap one as they are made by Samsung and Toshiba

You can get the version from here :

Nero 6.6.0.18
http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
Another site

hey Car.Mike, how goes it?
Hope you don't mind if I give my two cents worth.

The problem is definitely here:
Sense Key: 0x03 (KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR)

The Media is not being recognized correctly, since the burners firmware is upto date I suspect its the version of nero being used. Absolutly update to version 6.6.0.18, this version is stable, reliable, and should do the trick.

Here are the links for you update
http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe

Just one more thing, here in the log

All your aspi layers are not installed, although not required because nero comes with its own. If you want to install all available layers checkout forceASPI V1.7 for the drivers and inatallation instructions.

Doing fine. More minds are better than none. I do not think he needs ASPI layer as he is using XP. Nero has its own ASPI included.

Where did you find the firmware for him. If you can post the site as he will need it sooner or later

I just used the firmware search utility found at this site:

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php

Just enter the model# (TS-H552B) and click search, if he has a gateway oem drive, the current firmware version should be GA04, which matches the info in the nero log.

Recorder: <TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B>Version: GA04

magicmanx,
Glad that time it worked. Just do not update Nero until you read on this site that Nero has corrected the problem
