well what would be the best solution

i already have a SCSI controler

the drives are both pioneer

Hey,
Well can't really say much about the scsi, but i have the Pioneer DVD-106 16X IDE which is the one i am assuming your talking about, using a region free firmware update and it works absolutley fine for ripping DVD's, very fast and i have had absolutly no problems with it.

Both should work just nicely, IDE DVD-ROMs have a bit better support from programmers and in other hand, SCSI drives take less from your CPU.
