I recently dl a version of dvdfabdecrypter. It was the version before the most recent. I scanned it with norton to check for viruses and it found none. After turning norton off and installing the program once norton is turned back on it says that winfixer has been installed on my computer. Any suggestions or help? Is this in all new versions of dvdfab?
Thanks in adbvance for any help

I don't know why you're getting the message/warning from Norton. Evidently, I'm a DVDFAB Decrypter user, I updated whenever there's a new version and I have NEVER encountered any issues whatsoever.
Yes, I have AVG FREE Edition, Norton, SpyBot S&D, Ad-Aware SE Personal and I didn't see/received any message/warning at all. Maybe you can uninstall and get the latest 2.9.7.2 and reinstall back on to see if you still have the same issue.
Good luck!!

Maybe u have recieved a spam or spyware thing while u deactivated the antivirus. Do another scan and c if u can get rid of it or if its still there...
But DVDFab does not come with any extra spyware its just a program on its own and every now and then it has updates but does not come with extra not even a toolbar..
I did a search and i came up with the following page from symantec. I hope it helps
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/winfixer.html
Keep me posted....

I posted a similar problem with the newest release of DVDFab in the Ripper forum several days ago except my notice was that it contained BuddySpy 2.2. My ISP provider supplies an online virus/spyware add-on to my connection which I believe to be Pest Patrol. I ran the MicroSux, Spy-Bot and Ad-Aware programs and nothing spit up with these. I'm wondering if there is something in the coding that causes these False positives to spit up with certain AV/Spyware progs. I've used DVDFab through several versions now and this is the first time it coughed this stuff up....so why just this one. Hoping it is a false positive....I know he changed some program coding before to cure another glitch the program was having with some peoples computers....maybe another minor glitch with a few machines and their software.

No problem, Remember the first rule of every error is to search and see what u can come up with. My suggestion would b that if any other problems arise first do a search in Afterdawn to see if it has been covered or if it has been resolved b4. Im sure this one has not i have not seen it b4, also after searching aD do a search in google.
Just do a copy and paste of the error sentence and u would b amazed of what comes up.
Were all glad to help here...

Borhan9 I took your advise and installed the newest version of dvdfab and all was well. Nothing strange occured and I scanned the file and did a system scan afterwords and nothing came up. Something must have snuck through when I tried before. Thanks again!
