Just rebuilt a system. PX 716 SA reads CD's just fine, though it's unable to install any DVD based games, or playback any DVD titles. Launching a DVD will hang both PowerDVD 5.0 or RoxioDVD within a few seconds. Have not had a chance to try any other dvd software.

Specs:

Plextor PX 716-SA (worked fine on last system)
ASUS A8N32-SLI
Dual Raptor Raid 0
AMD FX-60
ATI 1900XT
Audigy 2 ZS
Antec Phantom 500w
BIOS: PIO and DMA(?) both set to auto

I'm seeing an occasional error in Event Viewer:

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: ASP.NET 1.1.4322.0
Event Category: (2)
Event ID: 1073
Date: 2/22/2006
Time: 6:58:10 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SD-C63A91172E7C
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1073 ) in Source ( ASP.NET 1.1.4322.0 ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Updates to the IIS metabase were aborted because IIS is either not installed or is disabled on this machine. To completely uninstall ASP.NET from IIS, please re-enable IIS and unregister ASP.NET using aspnet_regiis.exe /u.

Have not acted on this message because I have no idea what it means or what the implications of following it through would be.

I was reading around a bit on the forums and found a link to Adaptec's latest Aspi release. Not sure if that would solve my problem but thought I'd give it a try. Upon launching the included Install.Bat file I get the DOS window where I'm supposed to indicate which windows version (X82) to install but it says "Press any key to continue" Pressing any key immediately closes the window. I am unsure how I was supposed to specify a windows version but the readme indicated that if a version wasnt specified in step 1 that I would be prompted later.....there is no later in my case. Press any key.....bye bye DOS window.

Anyhow, not even sure if I am pointed in the right direction here. Any suggestions would be great. If more info is needed just let me know what.

Thanks.
