is there anyway to remove programs from add / remove in control panel without using add/remove feature for that particular program

The reason i ask is that i have a few programs - ie deamon, yahoo messenger that wont allow me to uninstal from add/remove programs - its comes up with cant find file / or kernal debugger etc - so i just deleted the file from my computer - so now i cant erase them from add/remove as there is no file/program -- and its annoying me :)

i think you deleted the programs from the "program files" directory, so instead of deleting it from there, try redownloading those particular programs again, and unistall them from the add\remove programs...other than that, i know theres a utility with norton that you can completely remove downloaded programs... hope this helps

Start, Run, regedit

HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

The list of entries in that key show what's in Add/Remove program's list. (not all key entries show up in Add/Remove)
