My Old PS2 can't read DVD's anymore, Help Please??

Hello, I bought my Slimline, a year ago. But just 3 months ago, I bought a bulk PS2 for my room. It was a bit hard cause it couldnt boot straight DVD's. It goes to the browser screen and say's Loading Disc.... Than it shows the disc I press x on it and it loads all fine. But when I use Swap Magic, I do the same procedure, but when It goe's to the swap screen, I swap using my swipe card and put the back up in but it just say's not valid disc, but the game's work on my slimline, the disc i've tried are both DVD+R's and DVD-R's, I've tried nearly 30 of back-up's that work for my slimline. Any one can help??

This sounds like a lazer problem. This happened me BUT on THE HUGE PS2. Hm... I would like to know how to solve this problem as well. *Sigh... I have to use HDA to boot games.

Will that help my problem??? Cause It alreaddy can read a disc (swap magic and games) just cant boot back ups

Well if it won't boot something it's obviously a laser/media issue which that guide explains.

Use some Verbatim/Tuiyo Yuden, get some 8x make sure they are DVD-R and burn at half the maximum speed (I buy 8x and burn at 4x) and they should play. If they don't, then it is a laser issue, so take a look at the guide.
