After indatlling my soldeless adapter in my 1.6 do I still have to solder the provided 1.5v wire on the board and plug it into my chip?

here look at my tut http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/307112 it should have came with this weird red thing that has a hook that comes out of the end you have to put it in a special place
