Ripping Audio (Not Music: But Dialog) From DVD to .mp3 or .wav

Total Noob,
Did a search & read messages on ripping audio from DVD, but I'm even more confused.

Goal: To get/rip [u]dialogue[/u] from DVD (HP DVD+RW drive) into either an .mp3 or .wav file that will later be recorded onto an audio CD.

Example: My baby Sister asked for an Audio CD of songs that came out the year she was born an to include between segues 30 second to 90 second audio clips of movies from that same year.

What I've tried so far:
1. Purchasing X2CD software: No Luck
2. Finding the audio clips on the net (there are only a couple, and their sound quality is terrible.

What are my options?
1. Would it be better to just buy a microphone and record the dialogue off my PC speakers while playing the movie?

or

2. Is there a program out there that is easy enough to use without having to have advanced knowledge of encrption, etc?

(Price is not a major concern, quality and ease of use are)

Any helpful suggestions, links or advice would be Very Much Appreciated!

If you do some searches in this forum, you will find multiple answers to this question. One of them is as follow:

1. Rip the DVD to HDD with DVDdecrypter.
2. Convert the audio to wav with DVD2AVI.

Check som articles on this web site for more information as well.

I tried the method above and it is working pretty well. I also found some help on the dvd2avi web site about the right sequence of operation to get the sound track as a wav file.
