Hi
I have had my PS2 modded. Unfortunately I had no information previously about modding and got this from a friend of mine who took my PS2 and got it modded from somewhere. Now my backup games are working. I want to know if there is any method I can know which mod chip has been installed in it.
I have tried with swap magic, USBextreme and some other utilities (downloaded through web) but all my copy software I get the message "This disk cannot be played).
My main purpose is I want to copy my saved games from mamory card to PC via USB memory but I am unable to do that. I do not know exactly from where I start. Shall I check my mod chip first ot look for disk problem or what?
Please guide me.

transfering via EXECFTPS is probly the best way.. you will need to compile a cd with cdgenps2 and run the prog that way or install app Via Dev mode.. Did your Freind tell you what chip was in system?? if you can give us a name it might help

Thanks for the info. I had no idea which chip he has put in. Is there no other way to know the mod chip without opening.
Can you elaborate more how to create this EXECFTPS as the PS2 do not play any copied disc even I copied with iso. It says "this disk cannot be played"
