i bought a hard drive. it didnt work, after a few messages with the manufacturer it was determined to be faulty. so i contact tiger direct, about a week later a get a responce. about a week and four messages back and fourth they agree to send another one, but i have to pay for it and send the old one back in the new packaging with the UPC code. ok, so then they dont send.... dont send... four days then they send and they send to the WRONG ADDRESS. i message them saying hey there, wrong address man. they tell me to have someone forward it to me and they will reimburse me.
I explain to them that isnt possible. its a po box on a naval base.
they tell me to call this other department. and since then they havent been returning my messages.
i will call, but thats really messed up. they *&%^ up an order that is to replace a faulty order to begin with. now they just want to pass me on rather than fix this themselves.
So i've been charged for 2 hard drives and $30 shipping on one of them (the replacement came with free shipping) and i have yet to even been sent 1 working one. nor will they respond to my messages.

the morale of the story: always use newegg, but seriously most stuff u buy from them works fine or gets picked up and replace fine, its only a couple of bad apples.

Found the following on the net; might be worth a try.
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/computers/tiger_direct.htm
Tiger Direct is a large company and not a fly by night company and rely a great deal on sites like this. It might sound a little hoakie but before using the above site, I would do a little research, find the name of the CEO and corporate address and send a polite but firm letter of complaint (be sure to mention the military like your post).
I know it sounds silly but I've done it a couple of times and it worked like a charm. I had a hard time with HP twice and it worked both times. My complaint was legit and they recognized that...your's is too. That is why I always use big name companies; they're nervous about their reputations. It's worked for me every time. It's not like you bought a small thing that isn't worth the effort ...you paid some serious bucks for that. Hell, I bought this HP PC that was a real lemon. Was in the shop a number of times. Finally I got fed up, wrote a polite letter of complaint to their CEO at their corporate address and within a couple of days, I got a brand new top of the line desktop better than I'd originally bought, a letter of apology and a postage paid box to return the lemon. Give it a try.
Well, just my two cents....Gerry

yeah, i reported to consumer affairsvia the net and the BBB. the current status is that the order is still in san diego.
i called again and they said that when it gets back to them after returned undelivered they will send it to me. then i can return the old one. its been sitting at san diego naval base for 2 weeks now and UPS status says "trying to obtain complete customer information"
what gets me is that i only order things when i know i have plenty of time to get them before i go out. but this has taken so long that i will be going out on deployment in a couple weeks and as of right (unless a maricle happens) i wont be getting it before i go out. so we are talking about a 3 or 4 month ordeal.
*Shakes Fist At Miguel from Web Responce* for sending the replacement to the wrong address.

thats too bad man, I've ordered dozens of various computer components off of tigerdirect.com and have never had a problem. Got one piece of ram that didn't work, and it was replaced within a week. Sorry you had a bad experience. Perhaps in the future try newegg.com, they are a very reputable online computer store...

tocool4u, "2. An image-only signature should be less than 50kb in size, and be at most 500 pixels wide and 200 pixels tall." but your sig is 146,520 so almost 3 times bigger than stated rule.

I bought from tigerdirect and left bad feedback for the product and they deleted the whole review.
Newegg's reviews always show up therefore they can be of some help, tigerdirect alters or completely deletes their reviews so I will never shop there again.
Plus newegg's prices are always cheaper.

yeah, update its been something like 6 months now. 30-35 e-mails 7 phone calls. e-mails are no longer responded to. phone calls started by them saying that the new drive would be sent on my dime when they received it back. then they received it back but i was underway, so i phoned them when i got back in port they said that it was too late, i threw a fit. they agreed to send it. it never came. i called they said it was sent and that because i am over seas that it could take upwards or 10 weeks to get here although on my account it doesnt show anything coming to my address. it never came. i call they say its on its way. the point in which they said they sent me the last one was april 08 that was 3 1/2 months ago.
needless to say i will never shop there again.

Tigerdirect rocks. I do tons of business with them, never had a problem. OTOH, I've had major problems all three times I've dealt with Newegg. I know some people swear by Newegg, and that Newegg has awesome customer service, but I'd rather deal with a company whose customer service I don't need in the first place.
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
