Dual Layer Media for Lite-on Drive

All:

I've had this Lite-on (SOHW-1213S) Dvd burner for about a year now. It supposed to be a dual layer burner. I've run Nero Infotool on the drive and it confirms it is a dual layer writer. I've updated the firmware to the most current version.

The problem is I've tried Memorex media (which I've since read here sucks). I just bought Verbatim DVD+R DL's from Best buy, and they don't seem to work either. I'm not getting coasters, the drive doesn't even see the media.

Any have this drive and could recommend some media to me?

you may have to un-install the drivers and then restart the machine. that way it updates it.
may have a bad batch..

does it read regular DVD5 blanks?

Check to see if you have the latest firmware update for that drive:
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares.html

Nero infotool will tell you the current fw version of that lite-on drive.

What programs are you using for dl backups?

Nero6 does have trouble with the layer break. I use dvd decrypter's ISO read and ISO write mode.
