This is hardly enough RAM to achieve consistently successful burns, recommended min is 512meg.

It appears that some of your log, namely the beginning is missing.

Steve your main issue is the burner is still not connected to usb2.

Even with the log reporting to be burning at 8x is is not. Connected through usb1 you are recording at around real time. Add to that the conversion and 3 hr time is actualy pretty good for this system.

Get yourself a usb2 controler card to add to the system and you will get 20 to 40 minute conversion and burn.

Lets not go where we went in the past. So if you do post your complete log remember to remove the serial # from the log first.

Thanks very much for your quick reply Whompus.
I am sorry about posting my serial no. WOn't happen again.

To elaborate on your reply concerning my slow burn, I have a usb2 controller card installed, which I use to hook up my iriver h300 and nikon scanner at various times.-never I must say, any 2 at one time.

What makes you suggest i don't have a usb2 controller card ?

The burner has continues to burn dvdrw media in 15 minutes, at x4 !!

I need to get to the bottom of this problem because as a pro photographer I will be needing to burn many dvdr's shortly.

kind regards

Steve

Are you sure its usb2. I guess if you burn dvdrw at 15 minutes then it must be. I dont remember all those 98 drivers but dont see one that suggests usb2. To be truthful not having usb2 was just a guess on my part. The controler is addin card right? Do you happen to remember what brand it is?

This seems to be driver for recorder. And also seems to be not installed correctly as you can see from the version # being ????.

In order for the driver for the recorder to install correctly the driver for the usb card needs to be present.

I did some looking around for your burner and it seems to say it is not compatible with usb1. But it is kinda compatible with usb1.1. So again are you sure your controler is usb2?
