I get this error in dvd shrink
"Invalid access to memory location Error" I've narrowed it down to a couple .vob files after I read this thread:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/287575

my problem is the actual disk has since been ruined and all I am left with is the folder on my drive. Is there anyway to fix this so I can shrink and burn the disk?

Try DVDFab or VOBblanker. Both will do wonders with damaged files/folders. Also, File Mode in Decryptor is great.

Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

Yeah Blanker should be able to take care of it for you, run the files through it, and then encode it shrink, or recode will do...

does decryptor allow u to have a folder on a HD as a source??? just my once over led me to believe it only handles media in the drive, that was my first thought to run the folder "throught the wash again"

DVDFab looks like it might have been the cause in the thread I sited previously.

I'll look into VOBblanker never used it before, and again to quote the thread I found: "That error code means that .VOB was not decrypted properly". If i could use the disk I would just re-rip it but I can't.

If you have it on your comp already then just run it through VOB Blanker...

nope tried VobBlanker don't work still get:
dvdshrink encountered an error and cannot continue
failed to read file " "
Invalid access to memory location

this happens at 22%

looks like from reading tutorial that vobblanker is to subside a file that won't compress. this is not my issue but rather certain files are'nt decrypted. is this right???

Hmm, usually when I get any sort of error, I use VOB Blanker, and it's fixed because a lot of errors are due to copy protection...You are shrinking the files that are in your 'output folder' after you run em through blanker right?

It's just really odd I've never had a problem with this prog...
