Good day all, Hope all is well.
I recently upgraded to nero 7.0.5.4 and since then my Vision does not have the option to Burn a DVD. If i revert back to 7.0.1.4 it works like a dream.
Any suggestions?
thanks in advance

i had the same problem. You have to activate with a premium DVD serial to burn and create DVDs in Nero Vision. You might be able to find that serial on the internet if you know the right places to look. :)

I have had no luck with nerovision4. I have complained to the Nero techs who seem not to understand my problem: it crashes my system anytime I attempt top run nerovision. I have tried the last two updates (1.4b and 5.4). My latest response from the tech was that there was a conflict with other burning programs on my system -- presumably my Roxio7 or BHA7. I have replied that I can use Recode and write a disk and so I doubt there is a problem with burning software. Moreover, I can get it to run on my office computers with similar setups -- that have the same extra burning software. The only major difference with the other computers is the version of ATI drivers for my AIW cards. Has anyone had this problem (no nerovision but burning works)? Anyone with ideas, otherwise? Would updating ATI drivers help?

All of the bove makes sense. I Don't think the application works fine because it does not matter what serial you enter or if you use it for an upgrade, it does not activate the DVD features on Nero Vision. I think it is a bug as described. I had .14 installed and it sorta worked fine, i like upgrading my software and because if the audio/Video bug. Looks like i have to stuck with .14.
Any suggestions with codecs on my system. What can i and cannot i install with Nero 7?
Thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm having the exact same problem with version 7.0.1.4. It won't allow me to burn DVD's.

Is there anyone else who has had the problem of all versions of Nero7's NeroVision crashing the system? Am I the only one?

I've got all of the software (both #7 versions) & will be paying the upgrade price (my Nero has always been legal) in a few minutes. 6.6 works great just hope the latest 7 does. If I too have the no DVD problem in Nerovision 4 then I'll revert back to the older version.

@gwendolin,
I have already tried the 1.4b and it did the same thing. I suspect the problem might be the ATI (AIW 9600xt) drivers. My reason for this is that I have installed the commercial original disk version and the subsequent 1.4b version on two other machines with otherwise the same WinXP setup (including software) and the disk as well as 1.4b works without a problem on both of them. What I am asking is whether anyone else has had similar problems with all of the versions. I am reluctant to start changing such things as the ATI drivers without confirmation of the possibility of this being the source of the problem.

We have seen problems with Nerovision 4 with every version of Nero 7 released to date. Basically attempts to create DVD's by transcoding Media Center Recorded TV files (*.dvr-ms) cause the Windows system to crash (cold reboot) instantly. It can happen everytime or not at all and at different times during the transcoding process. It must have something to do with the content of certain dvr-ms files because some transcode just fine. The Media Centre PC has an ATI X300 express video graphics card, and drivers that are about a year old. I must look into updating them sometime.
Cheers

nigel,
My problem is that I never get to open a file. As soon as I hit the nerovision button, the PC crashes and restarts. For this reason I am not able to send the tech the neorvision log showing what happened. No log is created since the program never actually starts.
I forgot to mention that when I first installed the 5.4 update it did work -- once! after that, immediate crashes. I ran the clean program and reinstalled and entered serial number, hit button, crash/restart.

What I was trying to suggest in my last msg was that it is probably worth trying to update your ATI graphics driver.
I have now downloaded & installed the latest v6.2 catalyst driver for my ATI Radeon (Media center), and it seems to have fixed the problem I was having with system crashes.
I don't know how expert you are, but I always do a Norton Ghost image of my system drive before making a major change (PS I don't trust WinXP System Restore). If you have Ghost make an image, upgrade your ATI graphics and re-test Nerovision. If it doesn't help you can always go back to your previous system image.
Hope you get it sorted...

I've been having similar problems with Nero Vision 4. Whenever I try to create a project, add transitions, save, and reopen the project I just saved, Nero Vision crashes. If I do nothing but add movie files and try to save, I can still quit Nero Vision and reopen the project with no problem. The odd thing is that, if I do add transitions, I can still work on my project and create a DVD, but I can't save it. Does anyone think that downgrading to 7.0.1.4 will fix this?
