Hi all
I have a weird thing that has been bugging me for ages and I want to see if anyone else has had the same thing.
I have a PS2 Slim and the latest Swap Magic discs.
I have made quite a few back ups and more often that not I will make a back up which will work but then when I return to the game about a week or two later, it doesnt.
I am really not sure what the problem is. I have put it down to 2 things, either the media I am using (Ritek and also TY) OR it is the burner I am using (an Optorite).
Someone somewhere must have had the same/similar issue, can someone help as I dont know whether to spend some £ on a new burner.
Thanks
Lee

I have experienced this problem with my 8x Verbatim DVDs using Swap Magic too.. I think it's the laser or the speed it is burnt at. Try it again, re-build it and burn at half the maximum disc speed!
I fixed this problem by burning my 8x Verbatims at 4x!

If it was the laser or the disks then they shouldnt work at all? the ones i have done seem to work and then when I try to play them a second time (ie a month/week) later they dont.
Really wierd

Memorex is notorious for very bad burns. Get some 8x Verbatim/Tuiyo Yuden
and burn at 4x. Backed up 75+ PS2 games flawlessly.

Ive never had any problem with memorex, but I would suggest burning your discs at 2x speed or the lowest available for the best quality

I'll try burning at 8x and 2x. If I get the same problem I'll change the media.
Thank you both Mike and Ankoku for the advise.

I'm sure you'll notice a big difference if you switch to Verbatim/Tuiyo Yuden and burn at half the maximum disc speed (Don't get 16x's and get DVD-R!)

Hey cyatcom, do you mind telling me where you got your swap magic? Im on a search to hunt down a cheap site to replace my dvd rom version :'-( It kinda bites when you have to buy more than one, but hey I guess its worth that back up I had for the Budokai 3 my cousins used as a frisbee ...It was magically scratched to the point of un-playability

I wonder if this would work? Thoughts please.
I have some games that dont seem to load anymore (although I have played them in the past).
If I took the dvd that they are on and created an image on my pc and the reburt this image onto another disk (I have bought some TY 8x) is this likely to work? Obviously I would only burn at 2x or less.
