can someone explain why my DVD player refuse to play a video that I've burned with nero (data).The file was originaly an HR (.avi) file...I think it has something to do with the HR??? Is there a way to resolve that???

I'm using a Philips dvd player that usually reads any type of video and I never had problems reading data files before.

.AVI = DivX. If your player is not DivX certified, it will not play.

I'm not sure what a hr AVI is. If it means high resolution such as high deff then it will most likely need to be converted to standerd deff for your player to play it. DivX, AVI, mpeg, dvd whatever you like.

HR is for High Resolution...I think you're right, but how do I convert to standard definition???

There are many choices. Do a google search for convert hd AVI and you should find many guides. Some free apps some not free. I would most likely use convertxtodvd or DivX converter depending on what I wanted the outcome to be. Neither are freeware though. I think there is a trial for convertxtodvd.

many thanks ... It works find with a VCD instead of a DVD...so I guess it has something to do with the Bit rate...I will try to convert as suggested.
