I think i've said it once....and i'll say it again.

I have the cdloader iso file.

Its zipped pretty low and should fit in any email box. PM me with your email address if you need it.

It can be hard to find.

IF you dont have the backup then why did you say it works??? We all know the ORIGINAL works.....ALL games do with the fliptop cuz its NOT a modchip and cant be identified... only post if the BACKUP works not the originaL!

why does everyone swear by filptop? i have v3 fliptop with sm2 and out of my 20 or so backup dvd-r, 1 works. all cd's work for me... but no dvd-rs. it could be my media (datawrite red) as the only 1 that works is my bulkpaq wipeout fusion. i love the fliptop because the ps2 works EXACTLY as it does normally, just a bit miffd about these dvds...
help ould be grately appreaciated.

Hay jon9345,

Most likely you need to clean or adjust your laser lens. May even need replacement.

You can get cleaning instructions at this link. Look at the bottom of the page there is 3 links. 2 for cleaning the lens and 1 for adjusting it.
You can also purchase a new Laser Lens at this site.

its NOT the lens man....why would it be??? If your originals work and the backups dont...then its just how you are burning it or what media you are using... your guess is as good as mine... i had to burn "Cd Loader" 5 DIFFERENT times till i got one that would work...i kept using different programs to burn it... thats what you should do....try using Nero or some other good burning software.

What kind of turnaround time have people had from Saveware Cyberspace (i.e. www.fliptops.com)

I placed an order over a week ago, don't know if I should be concerned yet shipping priority USPS from Chicago to Cleveland...

I posted not too long ago asking about flip tops and CD size. My problem now is that I can get everything to burn fine, and games that are under 650mb work, even when on a 700MB CD, however games over 650MB won't run, i get the pink background.

I have a Version 7 PS2. Someone please let me know what they think, or if there is some kind of extra loader that I need.

Thanks!

cdloader would probably fix you up, but it will not work on V7 ps2's so you might be out of luck.

I kinda had the same problem. Its probably that your not getting the dvd down flat. Best way to make sure its completely in is to just give it a spin. If it spins, its good to go. Most of the time it looks like its down but it is sitting on the lip of the ps2. I also use to think that you had to get the disc swapped fast or it wouldnt work. Not true at all, take your time when swaping. Hope it works for you. Its not the dvd+R. Ive been using them from the beginning with no problems ever.

yeah dills i agree, he probably didn't have the disc in right. you gotta make sure you get that left side underthe lip. there is no reason at all why a disc would work once and then not work. i alwys stick the left side in first under the lip then lay the disc on the hub and give it a quick spin to assure that it spins smoothly.

long time no post here fellas. All seems to be going well and Darth & Dills have things under control, by the time I'm ready to respond they got it take care of. Can't pay for this kind of help anymore! Maybe it's time for 1-800-Darthnip and 1-900-Dills2214! Is Darth&Dills.com taken... ;-)

Anyway, I posted a new thread but have seen no replies so the game must really suck. Before I go and buy The Great Escape, has anyone backed it up? Or had trouble?

Thanks and to all the Flip-Top newbies... WELCOME!!!!

the great escape is actually a real cool game. i'm old so i remember the steve mcqeen movie and the game is just like it. i have it for xbox and it wasn't that big. since i'm lucky enough to have a video store right around the corner from me, i can back up the PS2 verison of this game if you'd like and let you know if it will backup ok. ***since i do not own the great escape on PS2 format (only xbox), this backup will be made for testing puroses only and will be destroyed within 1 hour of testing.***

Hay, calispeed

I burnd almost 200 games just using Prassi PrimoDVD 2.0 without a hitch. I used to have a PS2 V4 with a Neo 2.5 chip using the Game Shark disc's. All the orginals and the backups worked but for some reason the Game Shark did not work. I finaly found out it was a dirty lens and after cleaning it then it worked. It was realy strainge that it was the only disc that would not boot. But at any rate I found that it helps your games load faster if you clean your lens once in a while. Look at the lens and I bet it has some debree on it. It can't hurt to clean it anyways to find out if that is what it is.

As for burning it helps to have a fast sytem and not have anything else running in the background while you are burning them. I don't know if the writer matters. I have used Pioneer all along from the A03, A04 and then upgraded to the A05. I have used different types of DVD-R's. I have herd that some DVD+R's don't work. When it doubt burn at 1X.

same here heh, my brother burns at 1X just to make sure things r goin well... just took a while to get CD loader to work. I wouldnt want to TOUCH the lens or clean it..i keep the ps2 in good condition, nothing wrong with it so no reason to tamper with such a delicate piece of my ps2!... in the future though, anyone recommend a good Lens cleaner thats helped with problems if youve had any?

I have a version 7 ps2 and was wondering what I will not be able to do with this version that I may have been able to do with other versions. For example, I believe I read that one user could not use games that were over 650 meg. Is it a good idea to get one if you have a version 7? Thanks and please drive thru.

Yeah, i'm the one that has the prob with running games that are more than 650mb. So far, I've only found one thing out, but it's really not much help. Apparently there is a way to "fix" the iso files of games that are larger than 650mb, and get them to run on swap magic ver 2.0 on a Version 7 ps2. However these fixes are actually patches, and there is no standard patch. You need a differant one for each game. The only website I found with these patches was completely outdated, and the games can't even be found anymore for download. When i get on my other computer later, I will make another post with that website.
<BR>
If anyone out there knows of a general patch, or a website that has patches for games that are over 650mb, to make them run with swap magic version 2.0, please post it!
